prelude to the year-ender post

It’s been a long while since I’ve posted something here at my home.  First off, the baby, who is now turning 4 months on the 29th has taken a lot of my time from my online life.

Just to give you an update, I am already here in Singapore after I flew here last September, ahead of my wife and my baby.  It was really heavy leaving my two weeks old child and my wife whom I just married to a year ago but I guess that’s really part of the journey I have taken for the three of us.  It just takes a little more courage to overcome the loneliness and missing the two of them.  They moved in here however after two months, when baby was able to acquire his new passport which in turn allowed them to travel.

You’d say it was just two months being away from them but you know, I feel, the two months was really too precious to waste especially that my baby is just growing.  Those are the days I didn’t want to miss out on.  I  want my baby to grow before my eyes that is why even if it’s really expensive here in Singapore, we wanted to live with our means and never miss the opportunity to being together as a family.  My salary and the expenses we have here is almost just break even but the experience to live in a different country and enjoy being a family on our own is more than worth it.

The good part of this process is, we never have to worry about their stay in Singapore.  Both my wife and my baby are dependent pass holders, sponsored by my company, from the same company I had in Manila.  This was just a transfer of my job from one department to another.  I also haven’t had the difficulty in adjusting with the working environment.

All in all, the experience is a blast.  We are very independent as a family, both financially and physically.  We have a lot of things to go through to survive the years of being a family but the most important thing is, we are starting our own, only on our own.

I plan to change domain by next year.  I don’t want to delete this blog because I have put so much time on this and for the very reason that 2011 was a blast.  I got married, had the honeymoon, experienced “our” first pregnancy, birth of this baby, transferred to this country and everything in between that defined me now as a dad and a husband today.  All of these happened in one year and this was no doubt, the most memorable one which is why, I wanted to start a new chapter, a new blog in 2012.  I am not sure if I have to pay for a domain but definitely, I will keep on blogging.

I am on twitter by the way, @gbert08, just drop by and say hi.
